Destined to DJ

I remember a high school party. We were using an iPod to play music. (Yes iPod, you read that right.) By fate, was given the title of DJ that chooses all the music, before I even started DJing! While most people wouldn’t make a big deal of it, I was sweating over the massive responsibility of trying to read the crowd. Hard to do with picky teenagers. I guess I did a good job, because the DJ name stuck.

Started with old school equipment

In 2009, fate again chose me to DJ for a Halloween Party. My first gig. I had no equipment yet so I purchased the cheapest. They weren’t vinyl record players, and it was the worst! It played CDs, but had ZERO displays. It was like DJing blind. Using those, I built an overly-extreme skill set that elevated my abilities to set up great DJ mixes between all genres.

Failures and Path to Mastery

Soon after, I called top wedding and corporate event DJ companies near me to learn from the best wedding DJs in my area. I took their best practices and kept making my own improvements.

I noticed there was a lack in the market that even highly experienced DJs didn't provide. I wanted to DJ and MC for weddings and other events in a way that made people feel like this was meant for them.

Because of my natural ability and my hunger for mastery, I quickly rose as a top preferred DJ on the roster for some of these amazing companies, eventually creating my own path to serve couples directly.
